The right finish turns a plain carton into premium packaging. From embossing and debossing to spot UV, foil stamping and soft-touch lamination, every finish below can be added to your custom boxes. Tell us what you want and we will quote it with your order.
Embossing
A raised, tactile impression of your logo or artwork.
Custom embossing presses your logo, monogram or pattern into a raised relief that catches light and invites touch. It works beautifully on rigid boxes, kraft cartons and cover stock, and pairs with foil for a blind or foiled emboss. Because it adds real dimension without ink, embossing reads as premium the moment a customer picks up the box.
Best for
Rigid and gift boxes
Luxury and beauty brands
Logos and monograms
Debossing
A recessed impression pressed into the surface.
Debossing is the inverse of embossing: your design is stamped down into the stock for a clean, understated indent. It suits minimalist and modern packaging, feels tactile in the hand, and looks especially sharp on uncoated kraft and soft-touch laminated boxes. Combine it with foil for a debossed foil effect that stays crisp on dark stocks.
Best for
Minimalist and modern brands
Uncoated and kraft stock
Subtle, tactile branding
Spot UV
A glossy, raised coating applied to select areas.
Spot UV lays a high-gloss coating over specific elements, your logo, a pattern or a product name, so they pop against a matte laminated background. The gloss-on-matte contrast is a low-cost way to add depth and shelf appeal, and raised (textured) spot UV adds a tactile edge. It is a favorite finish for cosmetic, CBD and retail cartons.
Best for
Matte laminated boxes
Cosmetic and retail packaging
Highlighting a logo or pattern
Foil stamping
Metallic or holographic foil pressed onto the surface.
Foil stamping applies gold, silver, rose gold, copper or holographic foil to your artwork with heat and pressure for a brilliant metallic shine. Use it on its own for a flat metallic mark, or combine it with embossing for a raised foil finish that feels genuinely luxurious. Foil is the go-to accent for gift, jewelry, chocolate and premium rigid boxes.
Best for
Gift, jewelry and rigid boxes
Metallic logos and borders
Holiday and luxury lines
Lamination
Gloss, matte or soft-touch film for protection and feel.
Lamination seals your printed box in a thin film that protects against scuffs and moisture and sets the overall feel. Gloss lamination makes colors vivid, matte lamination is clean and glare-free, and soft-touch (velvet) lamination gives a suede-like hand feel that instantly reads premium. Lamination is also the ideal base for spot UV and foil accents.
Best for
Full-color printed boxes
A premium hand feel
A base for spot UV or foil
Window cut
A die-cut opening with clear film to show the product.
A window cut opens a die-cut shape in the box and backs it with clear PET or PVC film so customers can see the product inside. It builds trust for food, soap, candles and toys, and the window can be any shape that fits your brand. Pair a window with a printed sleeve or foil border for a retail-ready look.
Best for
Food, soap and candle boxes
Retail shelf visibility
